The Governance Institute for Directors in cooperation with the International Finance Corporation (IFC), member of the World Bank Group, and the Iraqi Stock Exchange, a workshop on (The Importance of Governance for Joint Stock Companies) which was held on August 19, 2019 in the Investors Hall in the Stock Exchange Building - Baghdad. It was presented by the esteemed Mr. (Ahmed Al-Yasiri), and more than 40 institutions attended the workshop.

This workshop aims to:

• Introducing The Governance Institute for Directors and presenting its services in the field of corporate governance.
• The idea of ​​governance and it’s important for corporate continuity was clarified.
• The importance of corporate governance for shareholding companies represented by statistics that link the extent of corporate governance implementation to corporate success.
• The importance and necessity of having a board of directors for every institution.
